Ford Competes with Marti Report!

WOW! For years we have all ran to the Marti Reports for verification of how our cars were built. They were the Bible for documentation of certain old Fords. Now Ford Motor Company is providing what appears to be nearly the same information. To me, documentation with the Ford Blue Oval on it will be more impressive than Marti’s logo.

What does all this mean? Is Ford competing with Marti? Will the information be identical? I have no idea at this point but we will soon find out. I have just ordered two Deluxe “Build Sheets” from the ShopFordGear.com web site. They say it will take 6 to 8 weeks to get the Reports.

Here is what the web site page looks like. It is very difficult to read one of the actual report pages but they certainly are not “build sheets”. In fact they look remarkably similar to the into on a Marti Report.

I have ordered one of these reports for our Ford Talladega (first production Talladega) and one for our SCJ Dan Gurney car. I will then compare them with the comparable Marti Reports and bring you a complete comparison.  Two “Build Sheets” are available from Ford; the first is a Basic for only $17 and a Deluxe for $46. These prices are very similar to the Marti Reports.

We will bring you more info as soon as we have it!

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.

  1. Just received three of these reports for my late model cars {two Mustang Cobras & a Lightning} A rep called me from Ford and asked if I wanted them mailed or emailed {I chose mail so I would have authentic Ford literature} I am pleased with the results for the money.
Thanks Richard foir letting us know about this!
